TL;DR

Zero struggles with his worsening bloodlust as Cross Academy prepares for St. Xocolatl’s Day, where Yuki plans to give chocolates to Kaname to thank him for saving her life. At the event, Zero throws Yuki’s chocolates to Kaname, leading to a minor squabble between them. Later, the Night Class confronts Zero over his attitude, but Yuki intervenes before a fight escalates. Yuki offers Zero her handmade chocolate and discovers a blood tablet where Zero was sitting as Kaname reflects on Zero’s traumatic past.

Zero experiences pain and struggles with his bloodlust, coughing up a blood tablet. The students of Cross Academy are preparing for St. Xocolatl’s Day, a tradition where girls give chocolates to boys they like. Yuki Cross, who plans on making chocolates for Kaname Kuran, is questioned by Zero, who is suspicious of her feelings for him, though Yuki insists she only wants to thank Kaname for saving her life. The headmaster, Cross, urges Yuki and Zero to be extra vigilant during the event. As the Night Class students make their way to their classes, Kaname unusually asks how Zero is feeling, leading the Night Class to take notice. Zero states he is fine and picks a fight with Kaname, which angers the other vampires. Yuki wonders if Zero is hiding something or if Kaname knows more about Zero’s situation. Later, as Yuki prepares chocolates for Kaname, Zero experiences more pain, and Cross gives him a blood tablet to help him manage it. However, Zero refuses the help. At the St. Xocolatl’s Day event, Yuki misses her chance to give Kaname her store-bought chocolates, and Zero ends up throwing her box of chocolates to Kaname. This leads to a small argument between them, and Zero, in pain, retreats to the stables. Later, Zero rejects a thank-you gift of chocolates from a Day Class girl, and the Night Class confronts him for his attitude. A fight almost breaks out, but Yuki intervenes, and the Night Class loses interest. Zero becomes increasingly withdrawn, and Yuki later finds him in the bathroom, offering him the only successful chocolate she made. Zero brushes her off, and Yuki discovers a blood tablet on the ground. After hearing about how Zero took Aido and the rest of the Night Class up on their challenge, Kaname reflects on Zero's troubled past. Zero struggles further with his bloodlust, unable to drink a glass of water with a blood tablet.
